I would personally like to thank "Crazy" Mary for her recent efforts to improve our lodge. She personally jumped in to spearhead the cleaning of our kitchen. She also put together a team to cleanup and paint the social quarters. Mary recently met with the board at a regular Tuesday meeting to volunteer herself to cook on a regular basis for Saturday and or Friday night dinners. She is also interested in starting to cook breakfast every Sunday. I am volunteering to cook breakfast once a month. THANK YOU MARY! Our property needs a lot of of work! This will take EXTRA money not in the budget, so fund raising is paramount. The picnic area needs a new sprinkler system and a new lawn. The A-Frame is in terrible shape and needs a complete renovation. The pool area and pool area bathrooms are in poor condition and in need of a lot of repairs. Our social quarters and backroom need new heating and air conditioning units. We would like to stucco the exterior of the building to improve curb appeal. I am currently in the process of putting together costs for materials for all repairs. When complete I will start a campaign to solicit outside donations for the cost of the repairs. Some of our ideas are: Sanctioned Chili Cook-Off, Car Show, Weddings in the Park, Weddings in the Chapel (A-Frame), summer child care, Cinco de Mayo Celebration. I am also dealing with a gentleman to set up a summer concert series that would run April through September, once a month. I am talking with a group that puts on free-style bicycle shows. All your ideas are welcome and when presented will be seriously considered by the board. All volunteers are welcome to help in a variety of ways, just ask! Anyone with construction or landscaping experience will be needed. You can help tremendously by bringing in new members! Come down and support your Lodge! Jim Smart, Prelate
